It’s bathing suit season - do you know where your Monokini is? 

In today’s bikini fashion world, the Monokini is definitely not for the timid or faint of heart.   It’s one of the most shocking and scandalous swimsuits in the bathing suit market today; which could also explain it’s popularity.  It’s fun to push the envelope with swimwear!  With its peek-a-boo cut out style, Monokini’s have become the modern (and ever hotter) version of the one-piece swim suit. 

When fashion designer Rudi Gernreich first introduced the Monokini in 1964, the swimsuit consisted of bikini style bottoms with thin straps over the shoulders to hold the swimsuit in place. The swimsuit provided no additional coverage and left the breasts entirely bare. Today, fashion designers continue to vary on the style of the original Monokini, but with a little more coverage.
