It’s the most wonderful time of the year…again! It’s officially the NFL playoff season. Although, if you ask most any man (and quite a few women, too) in America, he will resoundingly agree that football might be the next best thing next to…well, you know. Any female who has lost her man to a big game on TV this time of the year understands that being a football widow isn’t always a pleasant experience. Were you aware however, that there is another football league out there that even you girls might like? The Lingerie Football League is rapidly gaining in popularity and now has 12 teams in the league with 20 players per team. We’re here to give you a few reasons why you might actually enjoy tuning in to the LFL. (Aside from their obviously fabulous uniforms comprised of sexy lingerie–along with pads, of course.)

Is this about Lingerie…or Football? The Lingerie Football League at first glance might sound like a giant publicity stunt designed to further fuel testosterone-high beasts. If you are dubious, your reservations are completely understood. The league however, isn’t exactly what it seems to be on first glance. This is no Victoria’s Secret runway show done in hot and sexy lingerie and football pads. This is the real deal- football at it’s finest with real tackles; legitimate plays, lots of grit as well as true athleticism. Yes, the girls are ironically all very beautiful and very <eh> fit, and yes, they are playing football in their skivvies. The truth is, however, they also have some surprisingly bona fide football skills and could certainly give many weekend warriors something to worry about.
Making a Pass
Making a Pass: Truth is, as stunning as these sexy ladies are, they are very serious about their football and have the statistics to back it up. Liz Gorman of the Tampa Breeze averages 12.5 tackles per game, and although there are plenty of guys out there who wouldn’t mind going down at her command, Liz is not a person to be messed with–don’t let the fact that she is playing the game in her panties fool you. KK Matheny holds the league record for most passing yards completed per game, at an average of 95 yards per game.
What about Protection: This ain’t no sissy sport, folks. These girls (because they are half-naked out there, c’mon) don’t have quite the level of protective gear that male professional football players wear, thus it is quite an act of defiant bravado to get out on that field in the first place. Not since the days of roller derby have you seen such athletic and tough chicks that are still–so ridiculously sexy. The LFL uniforms consist of helmets, shoulder pads, kneepads, and elbow pads– and of course, some really hot and girly lingerie, including at times garters around their legs. It’s no accident that in addition to being pretty darn good athletes that these girls are fabulously fit and when it comes to packaging lingerie the way it was meant to be packaged–these girls fit the bill to perfection.
Girls will be Girls: The LFL has adjusted the rules a bit from traditional football. In the LFL, there is no punting and no field goals. Extra points must be earned by getting the ball into the end zone from either the 1 yd. line (1 pt.) or the 3 yd. line (2 pts.) The field is only 50 yards long and is 30 yards wide. It is a rule that in 4 downs there must be 2 rushing plays as well as 2 passing plays. The action is swift and fun and the view on the field ain’t too shabby either. (Not sure we can say that about the big boys over in the NFL!)

Become a Fan: With team names like the Chicago Bliss, Philadelphia Passion and Los Angeles Temptation it’s pretty obvious that these girls are using a bit more than their football skills to market themselves…but why not? Watching athletes compete has been popular since the days of ancient Rome. If these girls want to play hard and play sexy at the same time, we think it’s something to both applaud as well as embrace. So what do we say about sexy girls playing tackle football in their underwear? Touchdown!
